Why We Blend Tallow with Linoleic-Rich and Moderate Oils

Why We Blend Tallow with Linoleic-Rich and Moderate Oils

At Earth & Ummah, we craft skincare with intention, using only the most nourishing ingredients for your skin. While tallow — our key ingredient — is a deeply moisturizing animal fat rich in essential fatty acids, it is naturally lower in linoleic acid (an omega-6 fatty acid).

But why does this matter? Linoleic acid is crucial for maintaining a healthy skin barrier, and it’s especially beneficial for sensitive, oily, or acne-prone skin. That’s why we blend our halal, grass-fed tallow with oils that are high in linoleic acid, like rosehip oil, hemp seed oil, and black seed oil, which help balance and enhance hydration.

These linoleic-rich oils provide healing, anti-inflammatory, and anti-aging properties, and support skin’s natural barrier. However, we also use moderate oils like apricot kernel oil, castor oil, and jojoba oil — which contain a more balanced profile of fatty acids. These oils bring their own unique benefits, like promoting even skin texture, soothing irritation, and keeping your skin soft and supple.

By combining these carefully selected oils, we ensure our products deliver the best of both worlds: the richness of tallow, balanced with oils that provide ultimate hydration, healing, and nourishment for your skin.
